A Georgia Summer

Last weekend, we went to visit Nana and Papa in Georgia. This was Henry's first trip to Sandersville and he was an amazing traveler. I can't get over how well he did...may be the last time I say that but Thomas didn't travel well even at a very young age.

Our first night there, we made homemade peach ice cream...YUMMY!! Thomas ran, played and danced while he waited for the ice cream.

I wish I had one ounce of his energy.

This kid loves ice cream.

Thomas and Papa are great buds...they spent a good bit of time watching tractors on the ipad.

Henry also got some snuggle time with Papa.

Thomas got to ride in Nana and Papa's new ride. It blew his mind when the top came off the car...I don't think he even knew that was possible.

Thomas also got to help drive Papa's new lawnmower...cooler than any lawnmower he's ever seen.

And, of course, he drove the tractor.

And worked the levers "all by himself."

It rained a good bit but we snuck in some time at the pool.

Henry got some more time with Grandmother.

And Nana!

On Saturday night, one of Patrick's good friends from high school got married, so we got to have a night out. It was so much fun to see so many of his friends.

Papa got some wonderful news this week...his most recent tests showed NO leukemia cells present which means he is officially in remission! We are so excited for such great news. God definitely answered a lot of people's prayers with this bit of good news.

Lake

Last weekend, we went to the lake with Mimi and Tino. We haven't been since last summer and you can tell from our pictures that we ALL had a great time. I think Thomas had the most fun, however!

Here he is "exploring" with all kinds of attitude! He was looking for turtles, fish and frogs...thank goodness for Mimi because this Mama didn't want to encounter any of those creatures. Speaking of turtles...please notice that Ninja Turtles t-shirt that he got as a reward for being so good at swimming lessons. I'm sure I will regret that purchase when its the only shirt he will wear.

Driving the boat with Tino.

Flash-forward 12 years...

This is what Henry did most of the weekend. He soaked up all of the cuddles and holding he got. This child LOVES to be outside.

Taking a break from playing in the sandbox. He looks so old here.

Digging away!

Family picture after Henry's first boat ride.

A baby life jacket...poor little guy. He liked the boat and fell asleep once we started moving.

Chunky tuna...this kid is huge! Already outgrown his 0-3 month clothes. Who knows how much he weighs...my arms say that it is a lot!

Cuddles with BooBoo...please notice the PJ's and life jacket. He was ready to go on the boat at 6:00 am.

Kayaking with Daddy.

Caught a big smile with some squinty eyes!

LuLu kept Henry for a little while on Monday so I could go to Pure Barre (ah...my happy place). He got to take a good nap in her comfy bed.

As I was getting the boys ready for bed one night this week, I put Henry is his crib to look at the mobile. Thomas wanted to join in on the fun too! I love this picture of the two of them...visions of all the playing they will get to do soon.

Such an alert baby...he is very interested in all that is going on around him.

4th of July

So I'm finally getting around to posting about our 4th of July....time just gets away from me these days. We had a great 4th of July. It was the first one since the year Thomas was born that we have been in town, and I love being here for the 4th.

We started the day at the neighborhood parade and cookout. This neighborhood knows how to do it right! Each family pays $20 and they have the fire truck lead the parade and spray the hoses, they have an orchestra play the whole morning, a snow cone truck and they cook hundreds of hamburgers and hotdogs for all to enjoy.

Of course Thomas chose his John Deere tractor to decorate for the parade. He had the best time driving it all around.

Henry had a blast in the parade too!

Snow cones!

The fire truck hoses....great in theory but that is a powerful stream of water. We had a great time watching but Thomas wasn't about to go run in it.

The orchestra!

Lunchtime...first time eating Cheetos.

I'd say he liked them.

After we all had good naps, we went to the MCC for the 4th of July palooza...every year it gets bigger. They had pool races, a DJ, carnival rides complete with a ferris wheel, swing ride and tea cups, two huge blow up waterslides and the best firework show in Memphis after dinner.

Swimming with Mama's glasses on.

Sweet Henry enjoying the most perfect weather I've ever seen in Memphis in July. It was a high of only 80 that day!

Being silly with Tino. Thomas made this shirt at school and he is very proud of it. Instead of stars, it is his hand print. Such a cute idea!

Despite Henry's marathon crying fit during dinner, I can honestly say it was one of the nicest 4th of July's I can remember. Happy Birthday, America!

Henry is 2 Months

On Monday, Henry turned 2 months old. How is that possible? We love this little boy more and more every day. At 7 weeks, he weighed 12 lbs and was 21.5 inches long. We didn't get a weight last Friday when we went, but at the rate he's been going, he probably weighed at least 13 lbs by 2 months.

Here is Thomas's 2 month picture. His face is much fuller but otherwise almost the same size.  I looked back at Thomas's check ups, and he was 12 lbs, 3 ounces and 22 inches at 2 months. Pretty close!

Hard to get a picture without our paci - so far, he is a paci baby!

Thomas was helping me take pictures so he had to get in on the action too! Got to love that bed head!

Mama got a little camera happy while I had it out. This is a hat that Nana had made for Henry. It almost fits perfectly.

This is the Beaufort Bonnet that I bought in Oxford with Helene. It was my "splurge" for Henry and Patrick almost stroked out when he found out how much it cost. I don't care...I love it! Still a little big but was sure cute for pictures!

We tried pictures yesterday too but it was late and Henry was having none of it...hence the teary eyes and...

Screams!

Thomas and Henry both took baths at the same time last night.

Henry loves his baths now...until it is time to get out!

Look at this little chunky tuna...ha! As some would say, his belly has "dun' lapped his belt!"

Nothing more peaceful than a sleeping baby.

These eyes get me every time!

A few more pictures from Sunday.

This one makes me laugh...look at how long Thomas's legs are all stretched out.
