No Big Deal...

In case you didn't know, there is a small game this Saturday. It is no big deal....it is not as if this is the biggest game Georgia has played in the last 32 years. I am sure the Georgia fans are not even really excited about it...after all it only determines if we get to play in the National Championship. No big deal....

WHATEVER!!

This is a HUGE deal. This is a BIG game. The Dawg fans are pumped and so are we. We are only slight fans....my child's first hat was a UGA one.

We only have this Uga outside our front door every single day.

We show our pride wherever we go...

We monogram our outfits with "Go Dawgs" instead of "Thomas"

We use these pictures as Christmas cards...in case our friends and family forget who we cheer for. (If that is even possible).

We wear our team pride at other team's tailgates.

And we smile because we are "proud to be a Georgia Bulldawg!"

And we get worn out from all that cheering...

And we call the Dawgs even when we cannot stand up by ourselves.

And we "hunker-down" when things get hairy.

It is no big deal though, right?

GO DAWGS!!!!!

Thankful for So Much

Thanksgiving....it is too bad that there is only one day a year set aside for us to focus on being thankful for all of the blessings that we have been given. This year, we stayed in Memphis for the holiday and soaked in lots of quality family time, especially with this little guy....

Awful picture but the only one of our family of three!

After a good sweat at an early morning Bikram Yoga class (so good to be back!), Thomas and I watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I have always loved the parade...Patrick makes fun of me, but it just isn't Thanksgiving without the parade. Lucky for me, Thomas loved the parade as much as his mama....Here he is dancing with the Rockette's.

Later that day, we went to my Dad's house for the Thompson/Shea lunch. For the first time in many years, we were able to get group pictures. Fun memories!

We enjoyed a quiet Thanksgiving night while we decorated for Christmas. A new record for me...all decorated by the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas, so I like to have as many days as possible to enjoy the decorations.

Thomas woke up the next morning to a wonderland of "Hoho's" (Santa's), lights and ornaments. Seeing Christmas through the eyes of child is so special. He likes to sit in front of the tree and read his books. Thomas and I have been going through all of the characters in our manger scene....right now his favorites are the "baa's" (sheep) and the baby.

Over the weekend, we headed out to Wolfchase Mall. Looking for nothing in particular....wanted to take a swing by Santa since we have been playing with lots of Santas at our house. I was hoping Thomas would have warmed up to the idea. Nope...we could get close but he had a death grip on me. I will keep trying but not going to push it!

While we were visiting Santa, Thomas caught sight of the "choo-choo" upstairs. They weren't playing around with this train either. A very realistic train that gives rides around the mall. My child had died and gone to heaven. He kept screaming choo-choo and could not climb in fast enough.

So excited to ride on the choo-choo!

A few candids from the weekend....Thomas has been trying to ride on all of his toys...cars, tractors, trains....anything with wheels, no matter the size, he thinks he should be able to ride on. Poor kid doesn't have any indoor toy that is meant for him to ride on. Thank goodness for online shopping....this should be at our door in a few days.

In the meantime, a quick-thinking "Dada" configured our dump truck to fit Thomas. He has been riding all over the house on this thing.

Thomas likes to play with our clothes and shoes. He goes through our closet and brings me things to put on him. One night, it was my t-shirt. Check out this attitude!

Maybe he will marry an ADPi one day....

He is a fast little one on this car....

"Yay, for Thomas!" Such a happy kiddo!

I enjoyed every last minute of our long holiday weekend. Thomas is growing up so fast these days. He is talking up a storm lately, and I love hearing what he will say next. A few of my favorites lately - He talks about the moon a lot. One morning, I asked him where the moon was? He looked at us and held his hands up and said "I don't know" just as clear as if he spoke in full sentences all of the time.

All dressed up for church. He likes to pour his own cereal these days..."I do it."

He loves to sing too....He has the tune down for "Old McDonald" but he just keeps repeating "EIEIO" and "farm" over and over. He also loves to do the hand motions to Itsy Bitsy Spider while I sing. His most favorite song lately is to sing the ABC song....while he can repeat all of the letters after me, he doesn't quite sing all of the them. Instead, he sings "A, B, A, B, BBBBBBBB." Close, right? Still working on it! : )

An Enchanted Evening and Forest

What a fun weekend! We went to Helen and Alex's wedding last night. Such a beautiful wedding and an even more beautiful bride. We are so happy for them and wish them all of the happiest in the world!

"Mom and Dad" had a great excuse to dress up for a night out...great band, so lots of dancing for us! Plus we got to visit with the Campbell's and the Stine's...first night out for the new parents!

This afternoon, we went to the Enchanted Forest at the Pink Palace. I heard that it was such a great place for toddlers....they were so right. Thomas was able to run around and wander from exhibit to exhibit. He took it all in and used so many of his words to tell me what he saw.

Thomas has an incredible amount of words for his age. He talks all day long. I love seeing how much he is learning. It is truly amazing!

"Look at that fox, Mama!"

Penguin was a new word after the Enchanted Forest.

Giving the moose a kiss....sweet boy!

Thomas loved to run up and down the little bridge. He loves to "march" with his cowboys boots on.

Caught by the camera with a lollipop in our mouth!

Peeking through the fence at the BEST part of the whole afternoon....

The Christmas TRAIN! Anyone who knows Thomas right now knows how often he talks about, reads about, plays with, and watches "choo-choo's." He loves them. The train was at the end of the exhibit...he was looking at Santa's workshop when he heard the train whiz pass across the room. His head almost spun off and he ran to see the "choo-choo." He stood there are watched it for at least 30 minutes.

And then there was Santa Claus....or as Thomas calls him "HoHo." Last year, Thomas loved Santa Claus. This year....not so much!

The sweet people at the Enchanted Forest tried to get Thomas to warm up to Santa. The photographer had an Elm puppet. Thomas loved the puppet but not when he was sitting on Santa's lap. We watch other children sit on his lap; Santa tried to bribe him with candy....nothing worked. We will try a few more times over the holidays, but it just might not be our year for Santa!

Once Upon A Farm....

A magical scene....early morning on the farm. Little man made a mad dash out the back door straight for the "neigh" (horse).

We left last Thursday to come to Georgia. A trip to visit Nana and Papa, a trip to see the Georgia Bulldawgs play in Athens, a trip to play on the farm. Nana and Papa's house is the equivalent of Disney World to a one year old little boy. Thomas spent hours and hours exploring outside, feeding the animals, driving the tractor, truck, jeep, four-wheeler and motorcycle. He would stand at the backdoor and shout "side, side, side" (outside) "peeeessseee!"

So he drove....

And drove....

And drove...

And drove....(starting to get the picture? One of his favorite words is "drive." He gets very excited any time you say it and repeats it about 5 times)

And drove....

Besides a little driving, Thomas spent a lot of time feeding and petting the "neighs." They have four horses and Thomas loved them all.

Nana and Papa were sweet enough to keep Thomas all day Saturday while we spent the whole day in Athens. It was a fabulous day....we got to Athens early and picked up Helene and Watson. We had mimosas and bloody mary's downtown as the rest of our 92,000 friends trickled in. We walked around downtown and North Campus, and Helene and I shopped. We grabbed a yummy lunch at East West and then joined my friend Laura and her family for some tailgaiting time and slush...It wouldn't be a UGA game without slush!

It was the most beautiful fall day in Athens. It turned out to be a great football game for the Bulldawgs, and Patrick and I loved being there to cheer them on in person.

We ended the evening with a yummy dinner at Hilltop Grill while watching the crazy LSU v. Alabama game.

On Sunday, we all played some more on the farm. Thomas drove the tractor with Patrick. He would not let Patrick touch the steering wheel. This one year old is large and in charge on his "da-tor" as he calls the tractor.

Do you see this smile?

We walked down the lane to find the horses. Thomas was in heaven, as you can tell. I think I have a country boy at heart....and it does my heart good to see him loving the place where his Daddy grew up.

Thomas was Papa's shadow while we were in Georgia. He watched Papa all the time to make sure he didn't go outside without taking him too. They had so much fun exploring together.
