Family Visits!

I don't think Thomas had fun at all this weekend! Ha! That's not true at all - see this big smile? We saw it all weekend. Thomas was baptized this Sunday, so Patrick's parents, Nana and Papa, and his Grandmother drove in from Sandersville to be here. Annie (Aunt Sugar - another post to follow on that one) came home from GW to be there as well. Here are so pictures from the weekend of the little guy having a grand time with his family from out of town. We wish we could see you more often!

Burrr....Its cold outside!

We had our first cold snap this week. Thomas had a cough so we had to be sure to bundle up before going outside. Little man didn't fuss one bit when I put on his sweater. Mrs. Laughlin gave him this precious sweater. It has the hood attached and zips up the back. A smart mommy designed this thing!

4 Months!

Thomas was 4 months on October 10th. I've been very delinquent in posting updates on my blog - life has gotten in the way! We have been hit by sinus infection/coughs at our house this last week. I think we are on the mend now with just some lingering coughs.

This is our happy Thomas. I love this face! I can't believe how big he is getting.

Thomas is already distracted by the television. Here Thomas is playing with his dad but something on that TV catches his attention. He is already such a boy!

We caught this funny moment perfectly. He gets a little demanding when you are feeding him sometimes and wants to have control over the bottle. I can't imagine where he would get those controlling traits! :)

Playing in the excersaucer. He is still a little small for it, but that doesn't stop him from having a good time!

Stats from his 4 month check up:

Weight - 16 lbs 2 ounces - 75% (aka "chunky butt")

Height - 24.5 inches - 40%

Head Circumference - 50%

His favorite toys right now are his red chicken, green frog and play gym. Thomas slept through the night for the first time last Tuesday. YAY!! Big day for Thomas and mom and dad! He has repeated several times since then, so I think we are on to something. I was starting to forget what it was like to sleep a full night.

Mornings at our house

Mornings at our house are my favorite time of the day. Thomas is a morning baby. He is so happy in the mornings! He wakes up ready to eat and then he's ready to play. He does a little sitting in his bouncy seat and watching Sesame Street. He really watches the show too! He is mesmerized by all of the characters.

His favorite thing to do these days is to stand up. So we take a break from getting dressed to stand for a little while. Don't you love these overalls? He looks so grown up!

Thomas still loves to play with his gym. He is so strong now that he really pulls on those toys. He gets a little frustrated that they aren't long enough to reach to his mouth!

He also spends some time right outside of our bathroom. He can see us getting ready and he can catch up on the day's news on CNN. He will be a worldly baby, I'm sure. He loves to watch me blow dry my hair. I guess he likes the noise!

His favorite toy is his red chicken. He loves how the wings crinkle and the beak fits perfectly in his mouth.

How could you not have a good day with a send off smile like this? Have a good day everyone!

Adventures of Tailgating.....UGA v. Ole Miss

Last weekend was Thomas's first tailgate. We had the most perfect day to be outside. It was a family affair - almost everyone was there!

It was an early morning. Patrick and his dad left the house at 7:00 to take all of the "stuff" to the Grove early. My mom (LuLu), Patrick's mom (Nana), Thomas and I left around 8:30 and headed down. Big mistake! Who knew that 90,000 people would descend into Oxford at around the same time. Needless to say, we made it to Oxford and sweet Patrick spent hours parking cars. We had a fussy baby by the time we hit Oxford, so waiting in a line of cars was not going to work out well.

Here is our happy baby once he got something to eat!

Thomas spent his afternoon in the Grove with Nana and Mimi. Aunt Big Boo Boo came to play in the tent so the little man was super happy!

I didn't get any pictures of Thomas and Elizabeth Magee in the grove, but Julia did! Check out her blog for some precious pics of the two little ones (http://memphisonmymind.blogspot.com/2011/09/ga-game.html)

Here is our little family. We don't have too many family photos, so I cherish any we get!

I love this picture! Patrick's parents brought Thomas all kinds of UGA gear. He is decked out from his head to his toes (literally).

The little guy can sleep anywhere. He was snoozing in the tent while everyone was visiting.

Thomas was exhausted by the end of the day. He was still cheering on the Dawgs in his dreams.

Some fun facts about Thomas over the last week or two:

  • He now can reach for toys and bring them to his mouth.

  • He has found his thumb and he likes to suck on it.

  • On Saturday morning, we got the first belly laugh. He laughed so hard and it was precious!

  • He weighs 15 lb 12 ounces.

  • His favorite thing to do is look at himself in the mirror over his changing table. I think he thinks that baby in the mirror is a friend. So cute!

  • He was 16 weeks on Friday.
