Trip to Sandersville

We went to Sandersville for Thanksgiving this year. We loved getting to spend time with everyone! Here are a few shots from our week there (another post to come on Thanksgiving Day.)

Most kids grow up wishing and begging for a pony. Thomas didn't even have to ask! His Papa and Nana got him two ponies. This is Hot Shot. I think our little man liked him, don't you?

I didn't get any pictures of the other pony, Jingles. Jingles is a Shetland pony. Thomas liked to pet jingles and was dying to grab a hold of his mane. For Jingles's sake, I'm glad he didn't. Thomas has a tight grip on hair these days!

On Thanksgiving night, we shifted to Christmas!! I love this picture. He looks like he's saying, "I promise I will be good, Santa, if you bring me some toys!" We went shopping on Black Friday in Augusta. Thomas went with us and came away with the most stuff by far. Our first stop was to Buy Buy Baby. They have any and everything you could want for a baby. There was a very appropriate bib there that we should have gotten - "Who needs Santa When you have Grandma!" Thomas is one lucky baby. All of his grandparents love him lots!!

We took his Johnny Jumper with us to Sandersville. Thomas spent a lot of time jumping while we were there. I think watching Thomas jump was one of the main forms of entertainment for the week! He loves this thing.

One of the Walker's friends gave Thomas this Baby Einstein musical turtle. He LOVES it! He can push the buttons all by himself and make the music change. He is trying to figure out how this toy works in this picture. Didn't take very long!

Nana bought Thomas some pretty awesome books. This is a book on bugs. The last page opens up to this HUGE display of pop up bugs. Little man really likes this book!

A Sticky, Yummy Mess!

We have started to eat solids. Well, actually, there really isn't anything "solid" about rice cereal, but it still counts. He looks a little skeptical in this picture.

The first try was a complete failure. He hated it. I got the "stink face." He then proceeded to spit it all out.

Second try was a success. Please give me more, Mama!

Thomas can't just eat the cereal from a spoon. Apparently, his fingers help him swallow. All ten fingers get in on the action. We have to make sure that we roll up his sleeves or he will be completely covered! It didn't take me long to figure out that we needed to invest in the plastic bibs with the pocket. . . . . ASAP!

Sometimes its a little difficult to get the spoon to his mouth for all of the fingers!

Unfortunately, he takes after his Mama with his impatience. He will quickly let me know that he isn't done even though the bowl is empty. He combines the whine with slamming his fists on the tray. Be patient, my little man!

These Boots Were Made For Walking.....One Day Soon

My mom (LuLu) bought these cowboy boots as soon as we found out that we were having a boy. They have been sitting on her dresser just waiting for Thomas to grow into them. We were at her house the other day and decided to try on "the boots." They are still a little big, but how cute do they look? I have visions of me chasing after him in his diaper and cowboy boots as he tries to escape the dreaded bathtub! For now, the Feltman Brothers Bubble, Women's Exchange bib and cowboy boots will have to do! How fun are little boys!!

Patrick is worried that Thomas will grow up and be a city boy. With boots like these at the age of 5 months, I don't think that will be a problem.

5 Months!

Thomas was 5 months on November 10th. Here is the standard blue chair picture. He thinks it is so funny when I sit him there for pictures. A far cry from the screams that he let out the first few times we took these pictures.

These days we see Thomas standing like this a lot. He thinks he is a big boy and wants to stand tall to prove it!

Happy Boy! Look at me, Mama.

I had to post this picture because he looks like a little boy and not a baby here. I will have to come back to this picture in a few years and see if this is what he looks like.

You can see how chunky our little monkey is here.

This is a terrible picture but I had to include because this is Thomas's new favorite activity. I can't ever get a really good picture of him in the Johnny Jumper because he jumps so fast and won't stop long enough for me to get a good picture.

All bundled up and ready for our walk with Elizabeth Magee and Julia! Thomas loves Elizabeth Magee. He thinks that everything she does is funny. He is always watching her. She doesn't think he is quite as funny, however. He just gets in the way of the time she could be spending with Miss Racheal!

Thomas's attempt at sitting up. He gets better everyday!

UGA Football

Thomas has been a good luck charm for the Georgia Bulldawgs this year!! We started out a little rough, but have won the last 8 games. The most impressive win was the Florida game. Our Thomas doesn't even know what it is like to lose to those Florida gators. His mama and dad wish we didn't know what that felt like.

Here is a picture of our happy little bulldawg during the Florida game.

We are one more win away from the SEC Championship. We have faith that the Bulldawgs can make it there. No fair-weather fans at our house!

GO DAWGS!!!

Halloween and Pumpkin Patch

We took Thomas to the pumpkin patch this year for a photo shoot. Poor kid - he gets his picture taken really often. He can be a little ham sometimes because he is so used to having the camera in his face!

Halloween was on a Monday this year. No big plans for us since it was a "school night." My dad's street has a cove party on Halloween, so we went over there. Thomas had not slept well that day so he was sleeping really hard. We were afraid that he wasn't going to wake up in time to put on his costume. Alas, he woke up in time to wear his pumpkin suit for about 20 minutes.

Snoozing before the Halloween party. It is exhausting to be this cute all of the time!

Thomas and Aunt Big Boo Boo!

We finally got a smile with our costume on!

Thomas's Baptism

"The promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call." Acts 2:39

Thomas baptized a few weeks ago at Second Presbyterian Church. Friends and family from near and far was present for this special event. We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people that will be apart of Thomas's life as he grows up. All of these people were present on the day when we entered into a covenant promise with the Lord to grant the benefits signified by Baptism to all who exercise faith in the redemptive work of Christ alone. As his parents, we are devoted to guiding Thomas in his walk with the Lord.

Thomas wore a dress that has been in my dad's family for many generations on the Shea side. It was remade with the same lace because the original dress was literally crumbling from age. Sweet Thomas was so good as we dressed him in this large gown. Not his normal attire, I assure you!

The Walkers made the drive all of the way from Georgia. Grandmother was able to come too. We are so thankful that they were able to be there!

LuLu wouldn't have missed it!

Look at this precious face! Sometimes I cannot believe that God would bless me with such a sweet angel!

The Thompson family - Ann flew in just for the Baptism. Isn't that so special?? We loved having her home. Its hard not seeing her so often!

Thomas and his aunts! Lovingly called Aunt Big Boo Boo and Aunt Sugar.

Thomas was baptized by Andy Wells. Andy is the minister to the Senior Adults at our church. He was such a blessing to our family when Mama Dot was sick. He was always checking on her, visiting with her and most of all praying for her and our family. There are some days that I don't think we would have survived without him. There is an EXTRA special place in heaven for his man. He is truly one of God's angels. We love that he was able to baptize Thomas - the newest generation!

We had brunch with our friends and family afterwards at the Memphis Country Club. Here is the guest of honor!

Thomas got to meet some of his great, great Aunts and Uncles.

Dorothy was sick, so Lisa couldn't come. James and Caroline were still sweet enough to join us. It still amazes me how big she is getting!

Thomas and his bud, Elizabeth Magee. They spent a lot of time together and he loves her!

DeeDee and John Eric came in town for the baptism. We loved getting to see them, even if just for a little while. We don't ever get to see them enough!

Thomas and LuLu!

Thomas with Tino. He was a proud grandfather that day!

Thank you to all who came. We apologize for the parting gift we gave you. I won't speak of the details, but everyone there understands! Love you all!!

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
