Thomas's First Christmas!

This Christmas we had a lot of firsts....it was our first Christmas as parents, it was Thomas's first Christmas, it was also the first Christmas that we woke up at our house. I guess this officially makes us grown ups....about time, huh?

We woke up early on Christmas morning and Patrick and I opened our gifts over coffee. It was so nice to have that time before the chaos of the day. Little one piped up around 6:30 and we got him up and ready to go to my Dad's house for Christmas. If you know my family, you are pretty surprised by what I just wrote. Yes, we were planning to do Christmas morning at their house at 7:00am. Those bums over there could sleep all day if they were allowed to, so this was a MAJOR sacrifice - all for our little Thomas. He is usually wiped out by 8:00 am and headed down for a nap, so we had to have Christmas early (really early) this year.

Here is a snapshot of the little man waiting to see what he got for Christmas. He looks a little excited, huh?

His two aunts gave him this doggy chair. He can sit in it all by himself. Look at him looking at that chair.

Trying to give Annie a big kiss!

A shot of all of Thomas's loot. A bit obscene but oh how grateful are we for grandparents! I was able to put up half of the toys in a closet to bring out throughout the year. We had to put a rush on the carpet for upstairs so we can keep all of these toys somewhere!

Later that afternoon, we had the Thompson/Shea family Christmas at my Dad's. He is a picture of the spread.....so yummy!

The little man brought his ladybug over to play with (see my Christmas Eve post for the significance of the ladybug). Thomas went crazy laughing for almost 15 minutes. Everyone in the room was completely entertained.

I had to include this picture because this is such a Thomas face. He is such a curious (some might say nosey) baby. He is always looking to see what everyone else is doing.

Here is a picture of Thomas with one of his favorite people....Aunt BooBoo played with him all day!

Patrick's parents will look at this picture and flashback to when Patrick was little. Thomas loves to put the edges of his blanket in his mouth - as much as can possibly fit in his mouth too. It is hard to catch a good picture of this, so I had to post this now that I have one. As Thomas gets older, it is fun to see what personality traits and mannerisms he has from each of us.
