A magical scene....early morning on the farm. Little man made a mad dash out the back door straight for the "neigh" (horse).
We left last Thursday to come to Georgia. A trip to visit Nana and Papa, a trip to see the Georgia Bulldawgs play in Athens, a trip to play on the farm. Nana and Papa's house is the equivalent of Disney World to a one year old little boy. Thomas spent hours and hours exploring outside, feeding the animals, driving the tractor, truck, jeep, four-wheeler and motorcycle. He would stand at the backdoor and shout "side, side, side" (outside) "peeeessseee!"
So he drove....
And drove....
And drove...
And drove....(starting to get the picture? One of his favorite words is "drive." He gets very excited any time you say it and repeats it about 5 times)
And drove....
Besides a little driving, Thomas spent a lot of time feeding and petting the "neighs." They have four horses and Thomas loved them all.
Nana and Papa were sweet enough to keep Thomas all day Saturday while we spent the whole day in Athens. It was a fabulous day....we got to Athens early and picked up Helene and Watson. We had mimosas and bloody mary's downtown as the rest of our 92,000 friends trickled in. We walked around downtown and North Campus, and Helene and I shopped. We grabbed a yummy lunch at East West and then joined my friend Laura and her family for some tailgaiting time and slush...It wouldn't be a UGA game without slush!
It was the most beautiful fall day in Athens. It turned out to be a great football game for the Bulldawgs, and Patrick and I loved being there to cheer them on in person.
We ended the evening with a yummy dinner at Hilltop Grill while watching the crazy LSU v. Alabama game.
On Sunday, we all played some more on the farm. Thomas drove the tractor with Patrick. He would not let Patrick touch the steering wheel. This one year old is large and in charge on his "da-tor" as he calls the tractor.
Do you see this smile?
We walked down the lane to find the horses. Thomas was in heaven, as you can tell. I think I have a country boy at heart....and it does my heart good to see him loving the place where his Daddy grew up.
Thomas was Papa's shadow while we were in Georgia. He watched Papa all the time to make sure he didn't go outside without taking him too. They had so much fun exploring together.
