Fall Break at the Beach

Last week was our fall break, and our family headed down to Destin. We stayed in Tops'l this year and had the best trip. It was the most beautiful weather and we enjoyed special moments and quality time - just the four of us.

This is the amazing view from our condo. Of course we saw the sun rise every morning.

Henry loved to look at the boats with the binoculars.

An early morning walk on the beach with this little man.

Henry has a love-hate relationship with the beach. Sometimes the sand is just too much and the beach chair is the best escape.

This kiddo...he is my beach-lovin', sand-digging, ocean-swimming buddy. He and I logged in so many hours on the beach, just the two of us. We were down there early and not up to the condo until late in the afternoon. I am thankful that Patrick is just as happy up in the condo to be with Henry while he napped.

Henry had some happy moments on the beach, especially when he had a water bottle in his hands.

Friday morning, the boys and I held down the fort on the beach while Patrick played Burnt Pines with Sean, Matthew and Chip. He said it was a beautiful course, and I think he enjoyed a few hours away from the chaos!

Sweet boy...

Throwing it back...this is right before he crushed the sandcastle that Thomas and Patrick had just built. Such a little brother and a toddler wrecking ball.

The only family picture from the entire trip. At least we got one!

Patrick's Aunt Beth and Uncle Harry came down to visit us on Saturday afternoon and night. They live in Dothan, AL so it was a short drive. We had the best time seeing them and can't wait to spend more time with them over Thanksgiving!

On our way home on Sunday, Thomas started getting sick. He had a nasty cold and cough. We spent Monday on the couch with lots of soup, medicine and rest.

Henry just couldn't stay away from Thomas. He loves to be close to Thomas and it drives Thomas nutty sometimes. I don't blame him. I just happened to catch a moment when Henry
was trying to get Thomas's attention while he was laying on the couch.

On Wednesday, Thomas was better and we had a blast at Dorothy's birthday party at Kids' Play. Thomas has refused to play in Bouncy houses until now. Henry dove head first into one as soon as we arrived and Thomas was not going to be outdone by his baby brother. The rest of the party, this is what I saw...

It's been a great Fall so far and there is so much more to come!
